Parker Building Supplies went head to head in an East v West charity football match on Sunday 13th October in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Colleagues from across the business, including new colleagues from recently acquired Stamco Building Supplies, pulled on their boots at Uckfield Leisure Centre, ready to play for a good cause – and regional pride.

The day got off to a very wet and windy start but players and spectators still turned out in force to support the charity, with a bake sale and refreshments stall adding to the occasion.

It was a fiercely competitive match, with a lot of effort, enthusiasm and some (surprisingly) good skills but the final result was 8-6 to the East side!

Most importantly, we raised over £300 on the day for our partner charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

We had our East side colleagues playing in yellow and our West side in purple

Alice Baker, Parkers Marketing Executive said: “It was amazing to see everyone’s commitment to the event – despite the rain they played on and there was certainly competition!”

Chris Maityard, Parkers Chief Executive Officer added: “It’s one of our most popular charity fundraising events of the year which we all thoroughly look forward to and enjoy. Well done to the East side – and here’s to the rematch next year!”

Our purchase ledger and marketing teams ran a bake sale, teas, coffees and refreshments stall for the players and spectators throughout the event.
